My name is Tomás, but some people call me Mashi and others Mashyan.
I am Portuguese and I was born in 1988. When I was a kid I had a strong interest in religions and spirituality, but as I grew up that connection went away. Many years passed, I took a degree in Marketing and I was ready to find a job, when suddenly I was diagnosed with a strange disease called Meniere Sindrome, and that was exactly the turning point. God was calling me again and I had nowhere to go. In 2012 I went to live in USA, New York, and I started to go deep in Yoga, my life was changing very fast and I was feeling re-borned.
I left NY and went down to Mexico, where I spent some months travelling and living in a Yoga Community called Hridaya Yoga. After Mexico, at the beginning of 2013 I went to India, a dream come true...In mother India I spent 5 months travelling, taking TTC's (Yoga Teachers Training Course) in Rishikesh and living with the babas in Varanasi for a while. I also made it to Nepal to climb alone the Himalayas (Anapurna Mountain).
After all that I returned again to Mexico to learn more about meditation, mainly Hridaya Meditation and again to India to take more TTC'S and also for Vipassana courses.
I'm a Yoga Alliance registered Yoga teacher with 500 hours certificate, and nowadays I teach Yoga in different places (check the Yoga Shalas section at the top).
In 2015 I created the project "Little Buda" that consists in taking meditation to schools. In 2016 I wrotte a book called " O Pequeno Buda - why should we teach meditation to kids". The project has now many schools involved, around 5000 kids are doing the meditation in the class-room everyday.
I've been working also as a speaker. Invited by companies, festivals, TEDx, or other events, I provide talks about my projects, about meditation or sharing my life experience.
Recently I joined the E-Health Learning Community. A unique online learning community of educator practitioners, doctors & scientists and leading authors in health and wellbeing sharing cutting edge continued learning for health students, conscientious and inspired practitioners as well as the health conscious public at large.
Well, that's all for now, welcome to my personal website, it is here for you.
I hope you enjoy it and let me know how can I help you!
Salutations to all!
